Mythical YAMAHA CA-800 II series integrated amplifier with the possibility of separating the Preamplification, absolutely genuine made in Japan by NIPPON GAKKI, truly a "piece" of HI-FI history.
Yamaha is undoubtedly to be considered a historic 360 producer of equipment concerning "sound reproduction" and, more recently, also in the world of video. The CA-800 is definitely a very pleasant sounding HIGH range amplifier and never over the top. We are at the end of the 70s and Yamaha, with already a great experience with discrete components (FET and Transistor), has produced absolutely excellent HI-FI equipment that has remained in the history of this world. Besides the quality, the design is also unique and original but the touch of class is in knowing how to keep that vintage charm by building a warm wooden "case" in gentle contrast with the modern front panel.
In addition to the possibility of using the amplifier separately PRE and / or FINAL, this 800 has a very interesting and rare possibility that is to be able to operate in CLASS A with, obviously, a considerable reduction in power (see last photo) but capable of giving a response like a real TRIODE tube amp!
The amplifier is in perfect working order and in a wonderful state of preservation, even if there may be some slight signs of aging, exactly as in the photo. Even internally the conservation conditions are nothing short of EXCELLENT, no signs of humidity, in some parts very light dust, wiring cables absolutely intact and soft as if almost new, original TOSHIBA 2C793 Transistor-FET Power Amplifiers, all the components are ORIGINAL and no signs of post-original soldering! Please note that the rear lever of the "coupler" switch is broken, no problem, it can be moved with a small screwdriver. For any other detail, a vast literature is available online. Just an important info: there were two different versions of the 800 in the rear input connections, the DIN version was European, the version for US and Canada was with RCA, that is this proposed; obviously more sought after!
